This tutorial will walk you through the steps to create a photo gallery.
The first step is to create a category
![]()
The next step is to upload your photos. You have a choice to; A) upload one picture at a time or skip to B) do a batch upload from a zip file. A) Upload one picture at a time. Go to: components > RSGallery
Click the Manage Images button.
Click the Upload button on the top right.
Choose a gallery from the drop down box.
Choose the number of uploads(photos) for that category. Click Next. In the title text box, name the photo, if desired, then browse for the photo. Continue in this fashion until you have chosen all the photos for that category.
Click the upload button.
This process may take some time depending on the number of pictures you have uploaded. Please be patient. When the files are uploaded successfully, the screen will show the images.
B) Do a batch upload from a zip file. Alternatively, if you have a zip file full of photos you may upload the entire zip file. No directories, just pictures. Go to: Components > RSGallery
Click on Batch upload.
Browse for zip file and select gallery.
Click the Next button on the top right. Type in a title and description. Then click the upload button below those fields.
Your upload may take some time depending on the size of the zip file. Please be patient. You will get a message when the upload is complete saying that your upload was a success. The next step is to create a menu link for your photo gallery. Go to menu > mainmenu
Click the new button at the top right. Choose: Component - Component
Name your photo gallery menu link appropriately (this name will show in your menu items on the front end).
Choose RSGallery2 from the drop down box of components.
Click the Save button at the top right. NOTE: To change the way the RSGallery 2 displays on the front end of your site, go to Components > RSGallery 2 > Configuration >Display and make desired changes. |
